Robert Plant shared his thoughts regarding a “POSSIBLE” Led Zeppelin reunion as part of their 50th-anniversary celebrations this fall on his attendance on the recent 2018 O2 Silver Clef Awards in London, UK.
He received an Integro Outstanding Award last July 6 on an event hosted by UK music charity Nordoff Robbins, which also includes other notably known honorees such as Roger Waters, Stereophonics, Ellie Goulding, and more. Reported by The Independent that Robert Plant is considering the chances he would perform again with his for bandmates Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones.
“Only in a chip shop in Camden Town! I think that’s about as close as we will get to it!,” said Plant. “We are very pleased and glad with our very, very short career. If you think about it, it’s only 12 years. We get on okay, but, you know…”
Since their one-off performance at the December 10, 2007 concert at London’s O2 Arena tribute concert for friend and Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun, the legendary frontman has continuously dismissed the possibility of a Led Zeppelin Reunion. The one-off performance life set was released in 2012 which we witnessed Jason Bonham behind the drums replacing his late father John. The live set is titled “Celebration Day.”
Robert Plant was asked at the Silver Clef event if there’s any possibility that the Led Zeppelin could be coerced into headlining the Glastonbury music festival next year, he humbly replied:
“Nobody needs coercing, you either want to do something or you don’t, or you can or you can’t.”
Led Zeppelin will launch their 50th anniversary with the reissuing of multiple remastered editions of the soundtrack to the live set, “The Song Remains The Same.”
And it will be released September 7, — the project arrives 50 years to the date of the band’s first live show as The New Yardbirds in Gladaxx, Denmark in 1968. The audio will be from the band’s July 1973 performances at New York’s Madison Square Garden.
