Classic Rock Soared In This Year’s Olympics!

Good Picks!

There were so many things we loved about the 2018 Winter Olympics held in PyeongChang, South Korea but one of the stunning highlights was the use of classic rock music during the men’s free skate program. Before, the Olympics didn’t allow music with lyrics but all that has changed. And this year’s soundtrack will have that little rocker in you jumping for joy.

Australia’s Brendan Kerry used a medley of Pink Floyd’s “Shine On You Crazy Diamond” and “Money” and boy, Twitter had a field day making jokes about it (we’re still laughing at some of them right now). He made a few costly mistakes but still doesn’t take away how great his song choices are.

American ice skater Vincent Zhou, who made history by landing a quadruple lutz by the way, went for some Moulin Rouge! music and included David Bowie’s “Nature Boy” in the medley. So yes, their soundtracks are all on point!
