The rock and roll world is a place full of drama, below are the 7 Classic Rock Legends Who Got Kicked Out Of Their Bands:

Jimi Hendrix

Jimi joined Little Richard, as a session guitarist for The Upsetters for a short period of time because Richard grew weary of Hendrix’s lateness, antics, and the way he dresses, soon he asked his brother to fire Hendrix from the group.

Roy Orbison

Before having a legendary solo career – Roy was a member of The Teen Kings formed in the 1950s’. After a short tenure, Orbinson was allegedly kicked out of the band and the group disbanded. Leading Orbinson to record his first single as a solo artist “Uptown.”

Ozzy Osbourne

The prince of darkness has not only become a rock legend for his prolific music career, but also for the infamous stories of riotous behavior stemming from his massive addiction to alcohol and drugs. On April 28, 1979, Ozzy was officially fired from his role as vocalist for Black Sabbath, but his career only took off further after his solo debut.

Neal Schon

Journey was born in 1973 founded by Neal Schon and Gregg Rolie, two musicians who had collaborated with Carlos Santana. Schon’s desire (guitar) to have their own space to express themselves, prompted them to be kicked out by Carlos Santana.

Lemmy Kilmister

Lemmy Kilmister of Motörhead played in the seventies (from 72 to 75) with the group called Hawkwind. In mid-’75, the Canadian police caught him with more than a gram of amphetamine in his pocket, so they arrested him, spent a night in the shade, and finally, he was released, since the police made a mistake in the substance and scored in the report that it was coke, so the charge was dismissed. However, after the next concert, his comrades removed him from his position as bassist and voice.

Dave Mustaine

In April 1983 after the group traveled to New York to record their debut album, Mustaine was notified of his discharge when he was transferred to a Los Angeles-bound bus in lieu of their next gig. The musician apparently had many problems with the group due to his alcoholism, drug abuse, and personality clashes with James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich. But many fans have been thankful to Metallica for kicking him out, hence, Mustaine created one of the BIG FOUR, Megadeth.

Phil Lynott

Lynott was the founding vocalist of the band Skid Row, after its formation, they included incredible talents such as Gary Moore. But things got a little bit shaky when bassist Brendan Shiels wanted to try some other things – he decided to have Phil Lynott depart from the group – making the band as a power trio – just so he can take over the vocals as well.
