With Halloween officially ended, some folks are skipping Thanksgiving and going right to Christmas. One of these people is YouTuber William Maranci who formulated an unholy mashup of Metallica and Mariah Carey to capture everyone into the holiday mood.
Available below, the Youtuber created a mashup of Metallica’s “For Whom The Bell Tolls” and Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” Maranci combined this simple title with the video: “According to Hallmark, it’s Christmas now. I agree.”
Carey released the Phil Spector-inspired “All I Want for Christmas Is You” on her 1994 record, Merry Christmas. The song didn’t hit the Billboard Hot 100 because being unavailable commercially as a single, but it has remained to rise in stature ever since.
Carey recognized the song’s status as an annual staple on Twitter, uploading a video of a costumed man opening a door, only to discover the singer, clad in holiday pJ’s, relaxing under a Christmas tree. “It’s time,” she says, before giving out an outcry as the tune starts.
