While some people see reality shows as a chance to leverage their showbusiness career – the Kardashian-Jenner clan to say so – Aimée Osbourne chose to escape the spotlight when MTV decided to produce ‘The Osbournes’.
In an interview with the American radio station Q1043, the artist explained the reasons why she did not want to participate in the series alongside her father, rock star Ozzy Osbourne, her mother, Sharon Osbourne, and her brothers, Kelly and Jack. “I had already grown up with a very famous father, anyway,” he said. “I have always valued my privacy a lot.”
Aimée noted that participating in the reality show was something that “did not align” with the way she wanted to build her future. “Even [because I wanted to] give me a chance to develop as a human being, instead of being remembered only as a teenager,” he said. “It certainly worked very well for the rest of my family, but for me, for who I am, it just never was something that I could realistically consider.”
In 2018, Sharon Osbourne confessed to The Talk that she was “heartbroken” when Aimée decided to move out at the age of 16 to avoid filming ‘The Osbournes’. “She didn’t want to grow up on camera. She hated the idea,” he said.
‘The Osbournes’ aired between 2002 and 2005. In addition to doing some work as an actress, she is a singer, and recently released the music video for ‘Shared Something With the Night’. Check it out below:
