The annual event called Record Store Day will be celebrating independent music retailers and recently announced that they will be having special releases for Black Friday 2019.
The traditional Record Store Day usually takes place in April – while the releases on Black Friday will follow the theme of the traditional one, with rare material often available in limited quantities and on vinyl, exclusively.
“Since 2010, the organizers of April’s worldwide celebration of the record store, Record Store Day, have worked to shift the perception of Black Friday as a mass-produced, low-as-you-can-go event,” declared the announcement’s press release. “A list of special releases that highlight how great gifts from a record store can be, and celebrating the kick-off of the holiday rush at independently owned neighborhood businesses.”
The participating artists for Record Store Day are some of the well-known classic rock legends such as U2, Sammy Hagar, Cheap Trick, Eric Clapton, Alice Cooper, and Devo.
In addition, two of Paul McCartney’s unreleased tracks from the Egypt Station sessions, “Home Tonight” and “In a Hurry” will also be released digitally on Nov. 22, and on Nov. 29 for double A-side 7″ picture disc.
