Dave Grohl In AC/DC?

We’re Totally Here For It!

Dave Grohl may be one of the coolest and most famous rockstars of all time but he too has a dream he wants to come true. And you know what he said? He wants to play drums for AC/DC. He was asked by Forbes who he’d like to perform with and he answered:

“AC/DC. That’s my last one, that’s it. Phil Rudd is back though. If you dive back into their back catalogue, that early sh**, there was a little bit more dynamic, then they settled into the groove. That’s the thing. And it’s because of Phil Rudd. It’s AC/DC, but that guy holds the key.”

We would have loved to see him behind the kit slamming away to classic hits like “Thunderstruck” and “Highway to Hell.” But there’s a slim chance of having him as their drummer because earlier this year, Phil Rudd was photographed outside of Vancouver’s Warehouse Studios.

Brian Johnson and Angus Young were also photographed outside the same recording studio. But, there’s still no confirmation as to their lineup and what the band’s future plans are – if they’re in the process of making a new album. Then again, we’re hoping they would bring in Dave Grohl for at least one performance. That would be hands-down fantastic.

Back in August, JAM Magazine reported:

“Angus has decided to selected the best tracks from those recordings that Malcolm played on and is now back in the studio recording and mixing them with fellow band mates Phil Rudd, Cliff Williams and yes, Brian Johnson on vocals.”

To be fair, anyone would jump at the chance of playing for AC/DC. They’re one of the biggest rock bands of all time and even today, they can easily fill stadiums. And for Dave to want the gig even if he has already collaborated with most of his heroes, that’s a pretty big deal.
