Jack Sparrow Can Do No Wrong!
You may not know that movie megastar Johnny Depp was a rock musician before he was even an actor. Although he has stated before that he looks down upon actor-musicians saying, “That whole idea for me is a sickening thing, it’s always just made me sick”, he has ironically kept that rock star dream still going part-time. The Pirates of the Carribean actor has maintained a side-gig of guest-playing on a few gigs and even on friends’ albums. He said, “I’ve been very lucky to play on friends’ records and it’s still going. Music is still part of my life. But you won’t be hearing the Johnny Depp Band. That won’t ever exist.” We may never see Johnny Depp launch a solo music career but we’re seeing him form a band alongside two other legends in rock, Alice Cooper and Aerosmith’s Joe Perry, and they’re called The Hollywood Vampires.
Here he shows off his undeniable guitar skills while hanging out back stage with his newly minted rockstar bandmates Cooper and Perry. Depp just casually picked up one of his guitars and improvised a pretty solid solo!
He may not a be officially a rockstar, but this video is convincing us otherwise. Besides, he’s already been living the rockstar life for a long time.
