Guitar picks can enable you to perform in the most exact manner possible and can completely alter your tone. See this musician shred with a pick 65 times the size of a conventional pick.

Amar Alhoch has been playing guitar for the majority of his life and chose to share several of his rehearsal videos in 2020. According to his website, “he captured the attention of the guitar community with his technical and compositional skills while also sharing valuable insights to learning the guitar.” He has over 40,000 Instagram followers, and his clips have had over one million views on Instagram and over 2 million on TikTok.

In the video below, you can see Alhoch play using the world’s largest guitar pick. As per his video, it’s handcrafted and 65 times the size of a standard guitar pick. The musician noted in the description, “Purple Plectrums sent me this pick and challenged me to shred with it. This has to be the most epic shred challenge of all time! I’m not gonna lie, it wasn’t easy but it was so much fun. Purple Plectrums is always thinking big.”

Because this pick is indeed the world’s largest, we’re curious if it/Alhoch would be recognized as a Guinness World Record. Harold Craighead and Dustin Carr claim the Guinness World Record for building the tiniest duplicate guitar, modeled on a Fender Stratocaster and measuring just ten micrometers long, or one-twentieth the thickness of hair. Scott Rippetoe set the World Record for building the world’s tallest playable guitar, which stands more than 43 feet tall.
