The Husband And Wife Duo Performance!


Ike & Tina Turner were active during the 1960s and 1970s, they performed together with Ike’s rhythm and blues (R&B) band called the Kings of Rhythm and backing singers called the Ikettes.

The duo was indeed regarded as “one of the most potent live acts on the R&B circuit.”They were ranked as #2 on Rolling Stone Magazine on their list “20 Greatest Duos of All Time” last 2015.

But the most amazing thing that this duo ever did when they performed at The Midnight Special in January 1974, their performance of “Proud Mary” was one of its kind, they united their audiences and rocked the show.

The song “Proud Mary” was written by John Fogerty of Creedence Clearwater Revival and over the years many artists covered it but it was this performance of Tina Turner that made it more famous.
