Buckingham Answers The Big Question Of 2019

It’s been a year since Lindsey Buckingham was unceremoniously bounced from Fleetwood Mac, the result of an ultimatum issued by Stevie Nicks. In that time, both parties have gone their separate ways; Lindsey is crushing it as a solo artist – as everyone knew he would – and Fleetwood Mac’s world tour is well underway with new members Neil Finn and Mike Campbell receiving rave reviews for the unique color and texture they bring to the Mac’s music.

The lawsuit leveled against Fleetwood Mac late last year has been settled, and now that the worst of it is over, Lindsey Buckingham wants to make one thing crystal clear.

No, he doesn’t miss Fleetwood Mac.

The 69-year-old legend took to Twitter where he graciously answered a fan’s question as to whether or not he missed being in Fleetwood Mac, revealing that his own busy schedule and pursuit of his own dreams has kept him from even really thinking about it too much these days.

“I can’t say that I ‘miss’ being in Fleetwood Mac, as I’ve been concentrating on fulfilling my own plans that were already in the works before the split happened,” said Buckingham’s tweet. “So, in a sense, the situation is still too new to miss…”

But wait, there’s more!

Lindsey didn’t hold back his feelings about the newest incarnation of Fleetwood Mac, either, continuing with “…especially since I don’t have much regard for the way the band is presenting itself now.” He goes on to share that if anything, he’s sad – sad that “the split completely dishonors the beautiful 43 year legacy we built together,” one that “was always about rising above our difficulties in order to pursue a higher truth.”

Sounds like Lindsey has pretty much moved on and is looking towards a brand new, exciting chapter of his career. Unfortunately, it also sounds like there definitely won’t be some sort of Fleetwood Mac reunion featuring Lindsey one day down the line, but hey…a fan can still hope, right?
