‘Love, Reign O’er Me’ begins with stormy sounds that herald some tragic event. At the moment, some piano notes begin to sound, which little by little are forming a great melody, which gives way to the entrance of all the instruments, the synthesizer, and the unforgettable interpretation of Daltrey. One of the most majestic, elegant, and powerful songs in the Who’s repertoire.

“Love Reign O’er Me”, is a masterpiece that becomes the most outstanding piece of the album, Quadrophenia (1973). Quadrophenia is arguably one of the most important records of The Who’s career and well ahead of its time.

Showing that “Quadrophenia” was not just another record but a musical work of the highest quality, the single “Love Reign O’er Me” was released on October 27, 1973. The song reached the 76th position of the Billboard Hot 100 and also it figured in the 54th position of Cash Box, a renowned American magazine dedicated to heavy music.
