In a recent interview with AXS TV, Vince Neil, the iconic frontman of Mötley Crüe, shared his musical heroes and unveiled his dream lineup for a rock supergroup. As Neil prepares for his upcoming show on AXS TV, ‘Banded: The Musical Competition,’ the host engaged in a playful game with the singer, prompting him to choose his ultimate bandmates from a selection of renowned musicians.

The quiz began with the host listing drummers, including the legendary John Bonham of Led Zeppelin, Neil Peart of Rush, and Keith Moon of The Who. Without hesitation, Neil quickly selected Moon as his dream drummer, emphasizing his affinity for “crazy” drummers, much like his bandmate Tommy Lee.

“[I’ll choose] Keith Moon; he’s crazy. [Do you like a crazy drummer?] Yeah, absolutely, that’s why we have Tommy [Lee].”

When it came to choosing a guitarist, the host presented Neil with the options of Jimi Hendrix, Eddie Van Halen, and Randy Rhoads, known for his work with Ozzy Osbourne. Once again, Neil wasted no time and enthusiastically chose Rhoads, praising the late guitarist’s incredible talent while acknowledging the greatness of Hendrix and Van Halen.

“I gotta say, Randy Rhoads; he was amazing… I mean, so are the other guys, [Hendrix and Van Halen], but I’ll say, Randy Rhoads.”

Finally, the host presented a pool of bass players for Neil to select from, which included Flea of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Paul McCartney of The Beatles, and the late Lemmy Kilmister of Motörhead. Neil opted for the legendary McCartney, appreciating not only his bass-playing skills but also his personality and sense of humor.

“I gotta say, Paul. I mean, Paul’s a good bass player, he’s a good guy, he’s a funny guy.”

With Neil’s lineup for a rock supergroup featuring the likes of Moon, Rhoads, and McCartney, it’s evident that his choices comprise a dynamic combination of rock heroes with distinct personalities. Imagining them coming together as an actual band, chaos and excitement would surely ensue.

As fans eagerly anticipate Vince Neil’s upcoming show, ‘Banded: The Musical Competition,’ his playful game of selecting bandmates showcases his deep admiration for legendary musicians and offers a glimpse into his musical preferences and influences.
