Movie Review: Bohemian Rhapsody

SPOILERS AHEAD!

The first time we heard that Bohemian Rhapsody (not the song) was coming out to theaters we all went crazy, then the trailer came out (though some people complained that the trailer didn’t show Freddie’s crazy side) we were all amazed. The development of this movie was a long process, it stated from 2010 until earlier this year (2018). Despite the long wait, I was still eager to watch it and finally, the movie hit the theaters and I was very lucky to have seen the movie!

I’m gonna point out everything as lists being the positives and negatives about the incredible biopic movie!

Here it goes (SPOILER!):

THE POSITIVES:

  1. Well, this, without a doubt, Rami Malek nailed it as Freddie Mercury! Though his physical appearance wasn’t exactly like Freddie because he was thinner and smaller, despite that, he managed to show the antics and the spirit of Freddie Mercury (like he was Freddie himself!). The voice, the accent, the movement, hands, eyes, and especially the emotions – it’s outstanding! The guy deserves an academy award or something (not just nomination — the AWARD ITSELF!)!

  1. All the other cast nailed it as well — they performed each of their roles respectively in a great manner!  That said, each cast was top notch!

  1. The LIVE AID! The relived! Of course, I never got the chance to see the real LIVE AID, but man, watching this biopic movie makes me feel that I was actually there! The chills of how real and accurate it was!

  1. Well, THE MUSIC is QUEEN, so ALL IS GREAT!

  1. HUMOROUS — all the jokes in this movie will make you definitely laugh, especially the one-liners.

THE NEGATIVES:

  1. The inaccuracies — 1 or 2 will do good, but there were a lot of inaccuracies, some were even blatant. One example is the song We Will Rock You – written in the 1980s (it was written in 1977). Diagnosed with AIDS in 1985 (it supposed to be 1987). ETC! THERE IS A LOT! I MEAN A LOT! So, I don’t want to spoil everything.

  1. The things that are missing, the movie didn’t show any of their creative processes of how they make their music, their paths to success and stardom during the 70s, and they did not show much of Freddie’s personal life (this is the most important one because it’s a BIOPIC MOVIE). The production was playing it SAFE.

But in the end, it was still EPIC (but could have been better. Of course, nothing’s perfect)!

So my advice is YOU GO SEE THE MOVIE BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE! – I SWEAR YOU WON’T REGRET IT!
