Paul McCartney and John Lennon Virtually Perform a Beatles Classic

Just like the old times.  An emotional moment.

Sir Paul McCartney returned to perform live after 3 years of hiatus due to the pandemic. The legendary former Beatle kicked off his Got Back Tour 2022 at the Spokane Arena in Washington with an extensive set of 36 songs, including classics from his solo repertoire and the Wings era (Maybe I’m Amazed, Here Today, Dance Tonight), as well as others from their mother band (they went from Got to get to into my life and Getting Better to classics like Hey Jude).

But one of the highlights of the night was the usual moment of tribute to his deceased former teammates. This is how the interpretation of I’ve Got a Feeling, original from the album Let it Be, which was originally sung with John Lennon, happened. On the night in Washington, the footage of the documentary Get Back, by Peter Jackson (available on Disney +), was used to introduce the sections in which Lennon sang. Thus, a virtual “reunion” took place between the famous duo of composers, decisive for popular music.

At the show, McCartney took the opportunity to present Women and Wives live, the theme from his album McCartney III, recorded during the pandemic. In addition, he was excited to play live again. “Wow, that’s all I can say, you’ve been a fantastic audience for our opening night,” McCartney told the sold-out crowd. Towards the end, he was shown with a Ukrainian flag on stage. On his Instagram account, he also published a photo to account for the return. “So glad we got back!” he wrote.
