To mark the 50th anniversary of “The Dark Side Of The Moon,” Pink Floyd released a remastered version of “The Great Gig In The Sky” from the classic album.
On March 24, the group will release a deluxe box set that includes CDs and gatefold vinyl of the newly remastered studio album, as well as a Blu-Ray + DVD audio that features the original 5.1 mix and remastered stereo versions. The set will include a new Blu-Ray disc of the Atmos mix and a CD and LP of “The Dark Side Of The Moon – Live At Wembley Empire Pool, London, 1974.”
In addition to the box set, Pink Floyd will also release the CD and first-ever vinyl issue of the Wembley performance, and a separate book titled “Pink Floyd – The Dark Side Of The Moon: 50th Anniversary” will be published by Thames & Hudson on the same day.
To celebrate the release, Pink Floyd is hosting screening events in planetariums around the world. He is holding a video animation competition to encourage a new generation of animators to create music videos for any of the 10 songs on the album. Check your local listings for details.
