Well Deserved Award For The Legends!

Queen are among those who deserve this prestigious award. They will receive the “Grammys Lifetime Achievement Award” later this year.

They will receive the award alongside with Tina Turner, Neil Diamond, Emmylou Harris, Louis Jordan, drummer Hal Blaine and, The Meters. Too bad that Freddy Mercury is not around anymore to receive the Recording Academy’s Special Merit Award that will set to take place this summer as a special concert.

Neil Portnow, The President, and CEO of the Recording Academy says:

“This year’s Special Merit Awards recipients are a prestigious group of diverse and influential creators who have crafted or contributed to some of the most distinctive recordings in music history.

These exceptionally inspiring figures are being honored as legendary performers, creative architects, and technical visionaries. Their outstanding accomplishments and passion for their craft have created a timeless legacy.”

Artists who will also receive the Trustees Award are Bill Graham, Seymour Stein and, John Williams. In addition, Tony Agnello and Richard Factor will receive the Technical Grammy Award at the ceremony. – Further details of which will be revealed in the course of time.
