Rock’s Dirtiest Songs

Not For The Easily Offended

What is rock without sex themes? Double entendre isn’t exactly new and while we chuckle at most of them, we can’t help but roll our eyes at some. Subtle, blatant – name it, they have it. But of course, there are artists who liked to push the envelope and go a little further. And the result? The songs either left you filthy or scandalized.

The funny thing is, you might not realize how nasty the lyrics are until you take a closer look. So you know, you probably won’t hear these tunes the same way again.

11. Warrant – “Cherry Pie”

You already know what it is by the lyrics but as in case you still didn’t get it, the boys made sure their music video will tell you ALL that you need to know.

10. Led Zeppelin – “The Lemon Song”

It’s all well and good until you hear these lines, “Please, squeeze me baby / Until the juice runs down my leg…”

9. The Knack – “My Sharona”

The verses “Such a dirty mind, always get it up / For the touch of the younger kind” becomes creepier when you realize Doug Fieger was inspired to write it when he was 25 years old and was in a relationship with 17-year old Sharona.

8. Aerosmith – “Walk This Way”

You probably didn’t notice this but the next time time you sing along to “I met a cheerleader, was a real young bleeder,” you might want to stop and think about it.

7. ZZ Top – “Pearl Necklace”

Unless you’re extremely innocent, the title alone already tells you what it’s about.

6. Rod Stewart – “Tonight’s The Night”

It’s basically just Rod Stewart singing about his sexual encounter with virgin.

5. Ted Nugent – “Jailbait”

Why did no one call the cops on him after hearing this? “Well, I don’t care if you’re just thirteen / You look too good to be true / I just know that you’re probably clean / There’s one little think I got do to you.”

4. The Rolling Stones – “Stray Cat Blues”

“I can see that you’re fifteen years old / No I don’t want your I.D. / You look so rest-less and you’re so far from home / But it’s no hanging matter / It’s no capital crime” – yeah, how did they get away with this?

3. Frank Zappa – “Dinah-Moe Humm”

From the guy who gave us “Why Does It Hurt When I Pee?” and “Harder Than Your Husband,” we have yet another dirty song – you have to listen to the lyrics closely to know why.

2. Nine Inch Nails – “Closer”

Aside from the creepy and disturbing music video, the lyrics are also pretty explicit.

1. Prince – “Darling Nikki”

This deserves the top spot because it’s the reason why we now have “Parental Advisory” stickers on albums. Co-founder of the Parents Music Resource Center (PMRC) Tipper Gore heard her 11-year old daughter singing to the song and well, that alarmed her.
