Nicks’ best solo songs, as well as collaborations with artists like Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Sheryl Crow, Don Henley, or Lana Del Rey, will be released later this month on an 18-song compilation album called “Stand Back”.

The singer undoubtedly set a precedent for women in rock and inspired many girls to pick up a guitar and freely express what they felt through songs. Whether as a member of Flewtwood Mac or in her solo career, this great singer is a legend, so much so that she can boast of being the only woman to enter the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame twice.

She shares the 5 Greatest Songs From Her Career that often comes after heartbreak and loss, which is also the direction much of her music takes. However, it has uplifting messages to share and builds girls’ confidence.

Edge Of Seventeen

This song is the third single from his first solo album, Bella Donna from 1981. In it, Stevie expresses the deep pain he felt upon learning of the death of his uncle Jonathan, although it is also inspired by the murder of John Lennon a few months before the song was released.

Gypsy

It belongs to Mirage (1982). The inspiration for Gypsy, written by Stevie, was nostalgia for her life before she joined the iconic band.

Sara

From the album Tusk (1979). Written by Stevie Nicks at the time she was secretly having a relationship with Mick Fleetwood.

Beauty And The Beast

The second album, “The Wild Heart”, arrives in 1983 and reaches the mark of double platinum, taking the position of number five on the Billboard 200. Nicks’ performance of “Stand Black”, the album’s hit, on Saturday Night Live, becomes iconic in the same year. But one of the tracks that capture the heart of the Gypsy queen, was Beauty and the Beast.

How Still My Love

Stevie Nicks came to the release of this album Bella Donna after leaving her longtime group, Fleetwood Mac, and was subsequently turned down as a vocalist by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. A critical period, therefore, however, pushes the singer towards a solo career and allows her to publish a highly successful record. In fact, Bella Donna quickly reaches No. 1 on the Billboard 200 charts and places three singles on the Billboard Hot 100. Not only that, the record earns seven platinum discs and two Grammy award nominations.
