According to Joseph Quinn, if he could play a rock icon in a biopic, it would be Keith Moon. Quinn gained notoriety in the rock community with his role as the “Master of Puppets” in Stranger Things.
In the fourth season of the television show Stranger Things in 2022, Joseph Quinn appeared as Eddie Munson. Eddie Munson is regarded as the town’s geek and metalhead. However, he isn’t only a listener as he also produces music himself. When Eddie Munson had to enter the stage for the role, Quinn handled the situation quite well and rocked the stage. Many people were moved by the actor’s portrayal of Eddie Munson in “Master of Puppets,” which brought back the 1986 Metallica hit.
Quinn performed with the Metallica members during a cross-over event that took place after the concert where Metallica and Stranger Things partnered. The actor’s reputation in the metal community was further enhanced by this performance, and it was evident from the video that it was a lot of fun for everyone involved. In a recent interview with Louder Sound, Quinn shared his thoughts on heavy metal and his involvement in the show.
The actor responded with Keith Moon from the Who when asked which rock icon he would most want to play in a movie. Quinn said he was shocked that anything like this had not been done before and added that playing Keith Moon would be a lot of fun. He continued by saying that while he had lately heard of such a production, he didn’t believe they would consider him for the part.
The following is what Joseph Quinn said in regards to his ideal rock star role:
“Keith Moon would be pretty cool, you could have a lot of fun with him. I don’t understand how that hasn’t been done already. I’ve actually heard that there’s something in the works, but I don’t think I’m in consideration for it. Whoever gets to go at that… That’ll be a lot of fun.”
Prior to this, Joseph Quinn had professed his fascination with Kurt Cobain and Nirvana and had named a number of people who had affected him. The actor appears to have established himself as a promising name for a prospective biography with his breakthrough role in the series, especially in the scene when he plays “Master of Puppets.” Whether the actor will eventually get such a part in a rock biopic will only become clear with time.
