The world is full of very talented musicians, but Elton John is undoubtedly one of the most beloved, both for his songs (which have become true classics) and for his style and way of thinking.
The truth is that we have a lot to learn from him, as he has become a great source of classic stories.
Elton John once bombarded Bob Dylan with oranges, and it was during the night when he was invited by Neil Diamond to have some drinks in his house.
John told the story during his interview with Howard Stern, “I was Neil Diamonds house the next time I was in L.A. and Bob (Dylan) was on my team. And I’m very competitive. So there we all were: Bob, the greatest lyricist – can throw three words together that no one else can – but can’t do ‘sounds like’ and ‘two syllables’” John sharing the details of the night.
He was so frustrated during the night because he was losing the drinking game: “And I’m getting really fucked off because we’re losing,” he continued. “And apparently, I started throwing oranges at him – tangerines. And my friend Tony King, who was there, rang me up the next day and said, ‘Darling, do you remember throwing oranges at Bob Dylan Last night. And I went ‘Oh shit’”.
Fortunately, there was never bad blood between the two music icons, and they are still close friends to date.
