The cause of death of Christine McVie, former keyboardist of Fleetwood Mac, has been revealed as an ischemic stroke and metastatic cancer of unknown primary origin, according to her death certificate obtained by The Blast.
Ischemic stroke is caused by a blood clot blocking or narrowing an artery leading to the brain, and it accounts for about 87% of all strokes, as per the American Stroke Association. McVie’s death certificate also mentioned that cancer had spread throughout her body, but the original tumor site couldn’t be identified. The document listed cancer as the secondary cause of her death.
Christine McVie, a member of the band Fleetwood Mac, passed away on November 13, 2022, at Charing Cross Hospital Fulham. According to a copy of her death certificate obtained by The Blast, McVie died of a massive stroke and was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer that had spread to other parts of her body.
The certificate also listed large atrial thrombus and atrial fibrillation as contributing factors to her death. The cause of death was indicated as an ischaemic stroke, with cancer noted as the secondary cause. The Post has reached out to Charing Cross Hospital Fulham for comment. Additionally, McVie’s belongings were auctioned off for a total of $200,000, and her bandmate Lindsey Buckingham wrote an emotional tribute following her death.
