At the age of 64, the co-founder and guitarist of the famous rock group AC/DC passed away. Malcolm Young died of dementia, a disease he suffered for several years.

The news was known via Facebook when the members of AC/DC, the famous Australian hard rock group, published an official statement in which they reported that Malcolm Young, one of the founders of the group along with his brother Angus, had died on 18 of November 2017.

A lot of metal and rock musicians gave their respect to Malcolm Young via Twitter:

The cause of his death was the same for which the musician decided to retire from the stage in 2014: dementia, which also forced him to enter a specialized center to treat this disease in Australia.

In the statement, the AC / DC group highlighted the talent and commitment that Malcolm always had towards the band. According to his colleagues, he was the “driving force” of the group: “as a guitarist, composer and visionary he was a perfectionist and a unique man”, who during his life “always did and said exactly what he wanted.”

According to Australian media, the Scottish guitarist died surrounded by family, including his wife, two daughters, three grandchildren, and two of his brothers.

His brother Angus told the local press that it is difficult for him “to express in words what Malcolm meant” because in addition to their blood ties they also had a strong “bond” that united them.
